Post #0238 - Deliciously Wicked Bedtime Stories

Dear Earthlings,

To those who has been following my previous entry on my niece, I am proud to announce that she has finally graduated from the Actors Studio Academy. So last Saturday was more like a family outing for us. Went to KL Performing Arts Centre for Deliciously Wicked Bedtime Stories as my niece was part of the graduation performance.  Have to show some support, you know!

The one-hour Graduation Performance was open for public (2 days show) and was divided into few scenes (approx 5-10 minutes) from different age of group and with variety of bedtime stories such as the mermaid, sleeping beauty and more.

My niece was in the final group, Snow White I think? Because she was acting as a mirror. lol.

And the show ended with Oppa Gangnam!

Dear Earthlings,

After the slow talk incident, today we have decided to retain the maid and proceed with the permit.
The reason?
We noticed that she is slow at doing her work, doesn't know how to cook nor take care small children.
However, she is willing to learn and obedient.

So far I'm satisfied with her folding and ironing. All t-shirts and pants are folded nicely and no more 2-3 side lines in ironing. Plus, all have been arranged color coded, just like what I taught her.

Because of this point we think that we should give her a chance. Afterall, we cannot expect that we could have a perfect maid isn't it?

GadgetGeek said those points I should be less worry about. Both Youngsters are full day at school, and the cooking shall be done by me. What's important, the house is clean and be taken care off.
Hmm..

Dear Earthlings,

Yes, I was so pissed off with bibik yesterday. When I reached home, I was so freaking surprised that she has yet to settle the laundry. Ie : No folding was done. d'uhh. Asked her what she did the whole day, she said -

1) laundry (wash & dry)
<where all can be done with a single button! btw, we are using washer and dryer>

2) wiping & sorting the Youngsters toys
<she started to sort around 7am which I believe by 8am she should be done already. Afterall there are just two small boxes. She did not even arrange the books on the shelf>

3) ironing
< I checked the closet and found out that she only ironed one shirt. I believe she just started ironing?>

So agak-agak, mengamuk tak Madame bila balik rumah tengok kerja tak settle lagi??
From 7 am until 6.30pm, that's all you do?? in 12 hours? in 800 sq ft house?

Cut the story short, GadgetGeek had 'that talk' to the maid.
No voice was raised, only firm.
Seriously, I never seen him in that position before.
Madame pon takot ok!

Post #0233 - Yes or No?

Dear Earthlings,

Today marked the sixth day the maid is with us. (We call her 'bibik')
As I told you before, we had a Cambodian maid in 2010 for less than ten days. An Indonesian maid for a month in 2011, and now from Phillipines.

Yes, many people make fun of us - having maids from different countries. Even the new maid told me, "waahh.. madam.. you have maid all around the world".
Pfft.

We have 7 days trial period and tomorrow is the day where we need to decide.
So far, I'm so-so.

If want to compare work wise, my last Indonesian maid (43 years old) is more hands-on, detailed with cleaning, good with kids but everyday asking me to send her to her mom's place (her mother is also a maid in Sunway). Not sure her intention was to work or to visit her mom.

The Cambodian maid (19 years old) is out of the picture. She sleeps a lot, picky eater, late riser, always argue with us. In short,  everything was dissappointing.

Our current maid (31 years old), she's ok, but slow in getting her job done. For instance, she took almost 3 hours to iron 8 pieces of garment. Not good with kids, but getting there slowly. Lucky that we still sending the Youngsters to school todate.

The good news about this maid is, she's not home sick, unlike the previous maids.. which I find it a relief. No-more-drama-please.

Btw, I just got to know that my dad knows basic tagalog. He even sang! (showing off his skills to the maid) which I don't know why he did that. My mom just laughed at him.
*macam-macam*

Anyways, we left the maid at my mom's place for 2 days because we had to go to Langkawi which we already planned prior her arrival. According to my mom, the maid is easy to teach, not picky and obedient. Me, on the other hand raised my concerns etc. Again, my mom reminded me 'you cannot find a perfect maid'.

I think the reason why my family can click with bibik is because she eats budu sauce when my mom served on the table. lol!
Alaa.. my mom ni.. sapa-sapa yang suka makan budu, semua dia ok. bias! lol.

Whatever it is, I'm still contemplating though.
