Post #0193 - If we ever meet again

Dear Earthlings,

It was like a dream come true when GadgekGeek asked me whether I would love to go to States. (Hell yeah!!) The invitation came twice actually. The first one was via email. But due to late respond, he called me up :)

When he uttered the word, one by one..
my heart was pumping fast!
Seriously.
Normally I would just jump on what ever he’s saying. Ironically, this time I was patiently (trust me, it was really hard!) listening (with a BIG smile on my face :D ) Sounds stupid, but I think I had goose bumps. Cheezy I know.

We do have plans to go there, but never thought the trip would come this soon. My flight will be in next 8 hours and gonna face more than 20 hours flight.
We will be tripping in the Big Apple as well as DC and Philly. A place where GadgetGeek had spent 8 years of his life. If time permit, we might be driving up to Canada.
I don’t know what to expect, but hope it would be an enjoyable one!
Nervous I am.

Dear Earthlings,

March was a handbag galore month for me. Didn't expect it at all, but received it with open arms :)
Got three handbags from GadgetGeek. You heard it. Not one, but THREE! -

and (super unexpected) one from my Mom in law & Sis in Law.

So far I've been only using these three (except the black one).
Not that I don't know how to appreciate.. but the feeling I have right now is w.e.i.r.d.
I normally use one handbag until lunyai, and then only buy a new one. That is how I treat a handbag.
But having four handbags at one time.. hmm.. I must have been a reallllly good girl :)
Muahahahah (evil laugh)

ps - mmm.. on a second thought.. was GadgetGeek did something wrong? was he redeeming himself?? hmm..

Post #0164 - If I could choose again, I would still choose you

Dear Earthlings,

A picture keeps a million memories behind it.
I don't know why, but lately I've been flipping over and over again pictures during our mating courting season. It didn't take long for us to seal the deal, except that we took almost a year to plan out our wedding. The reason behind it, just to have a nice date - 7 July 2007, otherwise (I think) we would have married in end 2006.
Oh well, both of us love nice date(s) - which (also) the reason why Youngster #1 was born on Labour Day and Youngster #2 on National Day.  *macam-macam*

Actually, I asked for my mom's permission before we hit it off. Like, seriously. I definitely do not want to waste my (and his) time if my family against it. So, when my mom gave the green light  I was like.. wuhooooooo!!! (however, it was not easy to get my dad's permission)

He proposed during my Edinburgh trip in 2006 (was it August? or September? I cannot remember. boohoo! Must be in one of the months because the trip was from end June until end September) A spontaneous one (I guess) but deep down inside I was hoping for a "better" kind of proposal. Yeah, if he can be so creative in surprising me with a ring, why can't the proposal?? why? why? whyyyyyyy???

Though I didn't get the proposal like I wanted to.. still, no regret. I get the man that I always wanted. After all, look where we are now.
I've been deceived, with two kids!

Taken at Tanjung, Klang (years ago)

I foresee for the next few days this page is going to fill with cheesy entries. Who cares.

Post #0163 - Allow AAAs: Attention, Affection & Appreciation : Return RRRs: Respect, Reassurance & Relief.

Dear Earthlings,

I believe everyday is a learning process. In my case, GadgetGeek never fail to surprise me with new things, like revealing another piece of his life to me. Hmm.. is this good or bad? I'm so confused.

Well, this year is our fifth year marriage. The longest relationship that we've been in to. As far as I feel, I'm comfortable and I've been myself from day one I met him.
To me, first rule in a relationship, you gotta be yourself. It's either you take it or leave it.  I don't know about him, but he passed through all the test I gave. If he failed, I told him to try harder - which he did!

Ironically, both of us know how crazy we can drive each other. Don't let me starts on arguments. Be it, small things to major issues. Last time it was the wedding prep issues.

Then the schooling matter. Now, it's the house issues, never-ending idea conflicts! Lotssss of emotion involve.

So taking next level in 2007 was just a continuation of our relationship. No pressure felt, except that I need to compromise with some other things. Actually, it's more on compromising with the family. I have to know my limit and how to deal with his family, vice versa.

Along the way, we lost a couple of friends and ended up we best friends to each other.

Anyways, found this article on the net.  A lenghty reading but worth it. It's a friendly reminder for me to become a better wife and friend to him. In the end, he is all (and the Youngsters) that I have.

Post #0114 - These are the days that I'm still coping.

Dear Earthlings,
Since GadgetGeek started his latest assignment down south, I think my life has gone haywire. My team mate is not here with me, helping out with things around me.

Early this year I was coping with his schedule, fly in-out at least twice a week. The trip could be a day trip or 2-4 days.  Yes, for every week.

Then come August,
where he has to station in Johore (as of I understand) until October. Not sure whether the date will be prolonged or whatsoever. But I surely don't favour it that much. I'm not sure about some other people, but to me.. I don't like to be separated with my other half.

Things got worsen when Youngster #2 got admitted for 9 days. He was there for the early admission but later had to return to his lab for his work.
To add in salt, our dryer also went kaput upon our return. Leaving loads of laundry to be done. Normally I do 3-4 loads a day, but now.. with no dryer, I can only do one load due to space constraint (and back to the old skool whereby the hanging one by one.. piece by piece). There goes my 30 minutes of time. Wasted.
The tagline of "Berbakti kepada negara" or "Saya yang menurut perintah" definitely has its own interpretation. It doesn't only applies to the one undersign, but also to his family as well which means -  I also have to berkorban kepada negara, indirectly. Have to let go certain things especially the family quality time, whereby all these while we always be together, at least for weekend. Who says government servant goyang kaki sahaja?

Two weeks ago, he went to Johore (as usual). Considering that his return flight to KL from Johore arrived at 7:30pm and his next flight to Rotterdam was at 11pm, me and the kids had to meet him up at the airport for exchanging of suitcase.
Today, his arrival flight was at 6am. However, he has to be in Johore this morning. So, he's taking a flight to Sg at 8am and later from Sg to Johore because the morning flight to Johore is full.

His driver was supposed to pick up his (new week) suitcase last night, but couldn't make it. Hence, I'm waiting for him to pick up at my office which I believe the driver then will drive down to Johore to hand over.

It's pretty disappointing when he's so near, yet so far away.
Ok, fine. I miss him.

Post #0067 - Non Stop toppers

Dear Earthlings,

I'm scheduled for my operation this Thursday. Will be checking in the hospital on Wednesday as I need to settle of some of my files tomorrow. (oh yeah, i work on public holiday. pfft)

Anyways, GadgetGeek went to HK and China two weeks ago for his business trip and returned last Thursday. Thought it was just for 7 days, it taught us to be strong in distance relationship.
Well, at least it reminded us that it is not easy to be apart.

Mmm.. speaking of my operation day..
Since it clashes with GadgetGeek schedule (he was supposed to have this one meeting in JB) he persuaded me to postpone the operation. However, I couldn't do that because I have been differing the date for the past four weeks due to his schedule. (Derhaka No. 1)  Like, if I postpone it to another date, it won't guarantee that he will be free.

Anyways, the said meeting has been postponed. However, another meeting has been slot in and now he will only take half day leave - which kindda upset me. Technically, after my operation (10am) he will off for the lunch meeting. Though it is just a minor one, I want him to be there.

Right now I'm a bit disappointed (Derhaka No. 2), but please remind me to ask for his forgiveness before I go to the OT :D

Post #0048 - The looks of a private pilot in the making

Dear Earthlings,

Me and GadgetGeek love to surprise each other and we would normally compete who gives the best surprise. And when it comes to surprise, I always be the fool one, mainly because I don't know how to keep a secret.

However, I finally managed to hush this. Well, almost. Because he guessed that we are going to have a heli ride. Yeah, right. pfft.

Anyways, one of GadgetGeek many life dreams is to fly. He once told me (5-6 years ago) that he wanted to be a pilot but was objected by his parents. Though it was objected and now he's in different career path, he intend to have his Private Pilot Lisence (PPL) sooner or later. To show that I am a good listener, I took him to the Subang SkyPark earlier this week.

Little that he know that he's the one that will be taking me out to fly.
(money can't buy) surprised expression : YES!
Normal Procedure

Checking on feul
As arranged with Mr. A who is an instructor and owns the flying club, he briefed GadgetGeek on Flying 101. An hour later, we are already on the runway - choosing which light aircraft that we would like to take.

We fly out of Subang, straight to city centre, then to fly over our "new house".. make two rounds above it so we could take an aerial view of the house.. also to cross over our "current house" and ends where we started. That's the first trip.
Taking over
Approaching TM tower in Bangsar
Entering the KL City
Aerial view of New Residence
the view of current home
I'm not sure whether I'm a party pooper or not, but half way through the flying (of the first trip).. I had motion sickness. Boooo! So GadgetGeek and Mr. A dropped me at Skypark and they flew for second trip to have a view on Straits of Malacca.

Apart from having a mini crash course pilot, Mr. A also do private tour with an affordable price!

Post #0045 - On the side of Youngster #2 health and everything in between.

Dear Earthlings,

Eventhough it has been more than 4 weeks Youngster #2 being discharged of pneumonia, his cough still didn't subside. Hence, I could say that we've been visiting hospital almost every week. Lucky that Gadget Geek's company covers the hospital bill. Alhamdulillah. Otherwise, I'm sure we'd to fork more than RM10k as I'm keeping track how much the (total todate) hospital bill is (not including my hospital bill).

This shows how important it is to have the medical benefit, and I'm so grateful that GadgetGeek has moved to this green side. Otherwise, it's definitely going to throw a hefty cost on us.

We went to the same hospital, but decided to change the Paed. The one we regularly see is good, but we want second opinion and a better one, as the new Paed we seeing is an expert in child respiratory.
So yesterday, I waited outside his clinic (ard 8:30am) to queue and managed to get the third slot. So, time to see the Paed is roughly 11am.

The Paed did some background check and lecturing on us.
As a result, we have to change some of our lifestyle because Youngster #2 have sensitive nose.
First to get rid the (fragrant) humidifier and anything that has chemical smell (incl. electronic repellent etc), AND no more on the shelves meal eg: cereal based.

He told that the upstream of being sick is because two things - the food that we eat and the lifestyle. If we can control these two, insya Allah  we can hardly be sick.

Not only that, he suggested on making home made baby food. Well, it is not that I don't want to cook for my baby. It is just that I don't have time to cook for Youngster #2's dinner.

At the Youngster's school, they were given with freshly cooked meal - 3 times a day (breakfast, lunch and tea time). Except Youngster #2 get twice a day. Namely breakfast and lunch. The School normally give them rice with vege and some protein.

On weekdays, I reach home about 7++pm (provided I punctually leave from office). By then I have to sort out Youngster #1 and GadgetGeek's dinner, chores etc (I'm lucky enough to tapau dinner from my moms). To cook Youngster #2's food will take me another 30 minutes, and by then Youngster #2 will be crying for food.
So the best way is to feed him with ready food. I know, I'm just making excuses.

I promised to myself, starting from today, I will give him no other than home cook meal.
Plus, we are lucky that we don't have any pets and GadgetGeek is a non-smoker. Otherwise, I'm sure we'll be sweating in the Paed's room. Furthermore, he also reminded us not to have any fast food, especially for Youngster #1. And lots more advises. Apparently, we were in his room close to an hour.
So you can imagine how torture we were listening to his lectures.
Hahaha..!

The advise he gave us suit him with the Prof. Dato' Dr. title. No wonder people willing to queue to see him. We admit that he knows what he is talking and doing. (Like, duhh!)

Unlike our previous Paed, this new Paed decided to treat the runny nose instead of cough. Mainly because the runny nose is the cause to everything. From cough to pneumonia. We have to monitor and prevent it from happening again as Youngster #2 has the tendency for asthma.

Ditch the puff (that has to be given every 4-6 hours) and other sort of drugs that the previous Paed prescribed.  Stick to the new one (He gave us 3 syrups and 1 nose spray) and to see him again in next 7 days. I hope this is the end for the never-ending cough and runny nose.

On the other note, do you believe that everything happen for a reason?
Since I gave birth to Youngster #2 (we believe that he is one special boy), I lay my trust more than everything else in this world when it comes to the power of Almighty. Previously I do believe and hold the phrase but, not really into it.

We, as a human wants the best for us and a mother always wants the best for her kid(s). But what if Allah decides to test us?
This where we need to buckle up and live with it

Like why the Almighty opened the door for GadgetGeek to shift to another field leading to having the benefit of unlimited medical claim? We see the picture as Youngster #2 needs it a lot more than we do. Or maybe Almighty wants to give us extra good points for taking care sick child, since we are not-that-good Muslim? We just can never know the real reason, except to link the events.

First it was hard for me to accept it, after one to another incident. But again, there is a reason why the Almighty got me married to GadgetGeek as my fate. (Though previously, he's the type who I wanted to avoid the most) We stand side by side and always support each other. I couldn't imagine my position if I were married to someone else.He is my pillar of strength.

With every happening around me, I'm still syukur upon Him.

As I quote,

(QS. al-Hadid: 22-23)

Post #0044 - 8 days to go for our rendezvous

Dear Earthlings,

I already did the booking last Thursday and our flight will be on next Monday morning :) Haven't decide on the itinerary yet, but I'm sure it's going to be a simple one. As long as we get to spend our time together.

So far, the surprise is well sealed.

Dear Earthlings,

Right now I'm planning for a surprise.. dedicated to none other than GadgetGeek. Already asked him to block one day for me. Unfortunately, he can only confirm by end of this month. Sigh.. Nak date ngan husband pon nak kena buat appointment.

Anyways, I hope he can confirm asap because it's hard for me to keep a secret. Especially when it comes to 'a day trip' :) Yeah, need to do some flight booking.
See, I told you I can't keep a secret! Too excited :P

Owh. There is no particular celebration. I just want to spend time with him.
