Post #0215 - Chest Physiotherapy (Cupping)

Dear Earthlings,

We finally had to admit Youngster #2 on last Friday night.
Went to see the Paed on Friday afternoon. Negotiated so we can check in on Saturday morning, but the Paed wants to monitor Youngster #2 as soon as possible since we want to check out by Sunday as he wondered why the nebuliser thingy doesnt work.

So around 10pm, I went to the Hospital with the Youngsters. Check in and slept with the two kids in ward. GadgetGeek only came on Saturday morning itself because he had business dinner on that same night.

Anyways,
Same process, nebuliser every 3 hours and antibiotics. This time, the different was the Paed assigned us for chest physiotherapy or commonly known as cupping. FYI, cupping is used to loosen the mucus from the lungs.

How to cup -
Hand position :

Patient position :

The trick is, you have to cup (aka tepuk) at the front/back of the lungs (not the backbone). As well as on the side rib. The reason why the patient has to be lied down on the pillow is to make the lungs tilt.

Struggled, that's why we'd to wrap him
How many times? Depends.
Can do a couple of sets, 3-4 times a day.

Upah -

and Jalan-jalan -

Had buka puasa gathering with GadgetGeek's boss and colleagues. Resorted the Youngsters with our reliable babysitters.

Buka Puasa at Double Tree, Jalan Ampang

Found few articles with regards to chest physio. Feel free to read.

Seriously, I miss to be at home during weekends. Couldn't remember when was the last time we able to melepek. Weekends before we were in Singapore, hospital and recently in Alor Setar.
Sigh.

Found this one entry on steaming and cupping. very useful indeed.

Dear Earthlings,

I believe today marked one month (?) since Youngster #2 was discharged from the Hospital. We had an awful 5 days and 4 night stayover. On top of that, we've been seeing the Paed almost like every other week because he is still wheezing. Asked the doctor whether he's having pneumonia, and the answer is negative.

Anyways, went to see Paed last Monday and he suggested to admit Youngster #2 for another round so he can do nebuliser. Forgive me for being selfish, as me.. being sick and tired staying over at the Hospital asked the Paed whether we could just visit any other Hospital for neb. (and he said yes!)
2 seconds later, I asked the Paed again.
Instead of going to the hospital every 4 hours for neb, is it possible for us to neb Youngster #2 at home.
He said yes!

So, I present to you.. Youngster #2 latest gadget.

Dear Earthlings,

Youngster #1 has moved to Prep School since February this year. She was supposed to register in January, but I was not aware of that and thought she'll be in the PlaySchool until mid of the year.
Alhamdulillah, though she has missed a month of teaching, I'm glad that she managed to buck up.

So last month was her Report Day.
Overall she is good and secured (almost) full attendance. Has memorised few surahs (which the teacher has listed) and also some surahs that I don't even know. (Boo!)
Everyday prayers and prayer recital, Alhamdulillah. Because every Friday morning, the students will practise their prayers for half an hour to an hour.

Class work

This week, she will be presenting her class for English Week. It's more like show and tell - about myself and cat.

We are still considering whether to continue with this school for her preliminary or to attend a government school. I think private/international school is out of the picture because when we went my niece & nephew concert recently.. I'd say, GadgetGeek is a bit culture shocked on that :D

Wanted her to enroll a Chinese school. But by not having a basic module (ie - Chinese based kindy) I think we have to strike that out too.

Dear Earthlings,

Seriously, I hate when my mood goes koo-koo. Wanting the luxury-can't-afford-unnecessary kind of thing.
Last time item was the Hermes bangle. Just because it has the initial H. (after all men in my life are all "H"). Yeah, cliche.
This Hermes bangle has been stuck in my head since early this year. So, it has been 6-7 months already?
Ok, pat on the back because I still contain myself :D

This week, it's the Louboutin.
I believe this pumps has just made her comeback in my brain. In love with this pumps since a couple of years ago. I'd say, its overdue and no, I (still) will not waste my US$800++ for this pair.

Dear Earthlings,

GadgetGeek decided to host a dinner for his brother who came back for summer holiday.

Yang diraikan

So we picked a place (which is close to our house) - Muhibbah Restaurant, Penchala.
Booked and ordered at 6pm, return at 8:30pm.
They will only cook once we have arrived at our table.

Mind you, this was only the third quarter of the order

Fav - peanut

Anyways, BIL II is now working on his Relief Mission Sabah.
which I believe they have successfully collected more than RM30,000 from Malaysia, Ireland, Australia, US. Not sure whether they still can accept donation or not.
